Our culture & values

At Atlanta, our core values shape our behaviour and everything we do.

Our culture and values

We are fiercely proud of our heritage brands – their legacy, expertise and pioneering ethos. Atlanta’s values are the thread that connects our brands and our people all across the Group. They're the pillars that we stand on that drive our relentless pursuit of excellence and that demonstrate our sophisticated and innovative approach to providing the best possible outcome, every time.

Diversity and Inclusion at Atlanta

We are committed to building an organisation that is made up of people from a diverse range of backgrounds, with varied perspectives and experiences. We work hard to nurture a diverse workforce and support our people to progress throughout their career paths here. Driving an inclusive and balanced organisation helps us effectively meet diverse market and customer needs, as well as improve our competitiveness through innovation.

We foster an inclusive environment where everybody feels respected, is treated equally and can thrive. We launched our Diversity and Inclusion Network to celebrate and champion all our people. Run by our colleagues, we have six forums that help guide our strategy and advocate and provide support for our people both internally and externally. Each community strives to empower, enthuse, educate and inspire our people across the wider Atlanta community.

It is important to us to build safe spaces that bring the best out of everyone at work and create environments where everyone can feel heard, appreciated and welcome.

Wellness for life

We care about our colleagues’ wellness and foster a supportive, inclusive workplace that helps all our colleagues flourish. We have over 50 trained mental health first aiders across our organisation and offer a confidential employee assistance programme for our people.

We run a Wellness4Life programme that promotes a better work-life balance for everyone. Through the programme, we have partnered with organisations and charities to provide wellness cafes and workshops, from menopause support groups, men’s mental health clubs to financial advice sessions. Special guest speakers have included Marvyn Harrison, founder of Dope Black Dads; Carl Austin-Behan, public speaker, RAF veteran and LGBTQ+ community ambassador; and Shelley Bridgman, author and public speaker on transformational change.

Charity partnerships

atlanta charity

Our values reflect the culture that our teams live and express every day. Giving back to local charities and community initiatives is important to us. We give all our colleagues one paid day per calendar year to volunteer for a cause or community project close to their heart. Last year, our colleagues contributed some 1,000 hours of volunteering through the scheme.

Over the past year our generous colleagues and customers donated over £84,000 across 59 fantastic charities, including company match funding from the Ardonagh Community Trust (ACT), part of the Ardonagh Group.

We are incredibly proud to be involved with Football for Change. The initiative brings together football stars and business leaders with a collective goal to help young people in some of the most challenged communities in the UK, by getting them into education or helping them to find employment opportunities.

Atlanta Group partners with Alzheimer’s Society through our involvement with Insurance United Against Dementia (IUAD). The movement aims to raise £10 million to help fund Alzheimer’s Society support services and research programme.

Through our work with Trussell Trust, we raise funds to support their nationwide network of food banks, providing emergency food and support to people locked in poverty, to help end UK hunger.

We also support Centrepoint, who provide homeless young people with accommodation, health support and life skills in order to get them back into education, training and employment.
