Our story


Atlanta’s story began in Stoke in 1998. Several years and several brands later, we now have over 2.6 million customers and 2,100 colleagues.

Atlanta’s story starts with Autonet. Founded in 1998, Autonet grew to become one of the leading Van Insurance brokers in the UK, with 20 years of consecutive organic growth. Its success was partly due to early recognition of how important online channels would become to the personal lines insurance market.

Autonet became part of the Ardonagh Group in 2017.  The idea was to provide financial firepower and make acquisitions that would support other leading brands to deliver on the digital expectations of customers. The Atlanta Group was formed, and soon grew to include specialist motorcycle brand Carole Nash and high-street home and car broker Swinton Insurance, transforming operations and delivery while harnessing the strength and individuality of each business. More businesses followed, each bringing new expertise that could be shared across the Group.

Today, Atlanta employs over 2,100 colleagues and consists of some of the biggest personal lines brokers in the UK and Ireland, with a common goal to relentlessly pursue excellence in our markets, on behalf of over 2.6 million customers.

Autonet charity work.


Autonet grows to be one of the UK’s largest insurance brokers, and starts supporting local charities raising thousands of pounds for the community

An award-winning insurance broker, the team at Carole Nash has passionately provided insurance to motorbike and classic car customers in the UK and Ireland.
