Our story | Atlanta Group

Atlanta’s story starts with Autonet. Founded in 1998, Autonet grew to become one of the leading Van Insurance brokers in the UK, with 20 years of consecutive organic growth. Its success was partly due to early recognition of how important online channels would become to the personal lines insurance market.

Autonet became part of the Ardonagh Group in 2017. The idea was to provide financial firepower and make acquisitions that would support other leading brands to deliver on the digital expectations of customers. The Atlanta Group was formed, and soon grew to include specialist motorcycle brand Carole Nash and high-street home and car broker Swinton Insurance, transforming operations and delivery while harnessing the strength and individuality of each business. More businesses followed, each bringing new expertise that could be shared across the Group.

In June 2024, Atlanta merged with Markerstudy.

Markerstudy Group was formed in 2001 and is one of the leading insurance service providers in the UK, protecting in excess of 8 million customers with a comprehensive range of insurance products and services.

Markerstudy Distribution provides motor, home, SME and pet insurance products in partnership with some of the best-known brands in UK financial services and retail, and through own brands. As a combined force, our goal is to relentlessly pursue excellence on behalf of our customers.

Markerstudy is an accredited Investor in People - Gold, with more than 7,000 employees in the UK.

Timeline

1998

Autonet Insurance is established as an insurance broker, hitting a turnover of one million pounds after two years

2000s

Autonet grows to be one of the UK’s largest insurance brokers and starts supporting local charities, raising thousands of pounds for the community

2017

Since joining The Ardonagh Group, Autonet has continued to flourish as a van insurance broker.

2018

An award-winning insurance broker, the team at Carole Nash passionately provides insurance to motorbike and classic car customers in the UK and Ireland.

2019

Swinton is a heritage brand which has put the customer first for over 65 years.

Healthy Pets, Paymentshield and Lloyd Latchford logos.

2020

These three acquisitions expanded our business portfolio to include pet insurance and insurance administration.

2020

We proudly accepted the Personal Lines Broker of the Year award, a testament to the fantastic achievements made by our people.

2021

We welcomed the two brands into our growing portfolio of personal line brokers for car insurance.

2021

We won the Personal Lines Broker of the Year award in 2021 for our continuous devotion to customer care.

2022

We welcomed iGO4, an award-winning, digital-first broker, to our diverse collection of brands.
