Atlanta Chief Executive Officer

Emma spent over three years in the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) role, first at Swinton where she oversaw its sale to Atlanta as well as its digital transformation, and then as the CFO for Atlanta before becoming our Chief Executive Officer. She’s passionate about Atlanta’s brands, purpose, and potential.

Emma has held leadership roles at In Touch Networks, BNN Technology and NorthEdge Capital, having started her career at Deloitte.

“At Atlanta we’ve got the opportunity to pool resources across all of our fantastic businesses and use them to help customers find the right protection for the things that are really important to them. It’s my job to make sure we take the best of the best and find ways to work together to make it even better than that.”

Emma is passionate about helping women to succeed and regularly speaks at industry events, including the 2021 REACH Summit which aims to inspire, educate, and empower girls from all backgrounds.

ROB EVANS

Chief Commercial Officer

As CCO of Atlanta, Rob supports our commercial decision making, and further drives the simplification of our growth agenda. He also remains CEO of Atlanta Acquisitions and Integrations, where he helps the leadership teams of our acquired businesses drive performance and become a full part of the Group. Rob has extensive experience within listed, mutual, not for profit and private equity backed businesses. Rob is a Chartered Accountant and holds an MBA from Manchester Business School.

REBECCA SHEPHERD, Finance Director

Rebecca joined Swinton as Head of Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) in 2018. She was appointed as FP&A Director for Atlanta in 2020, Finance Director in 2021 and then Chief Financial Officer in 2022. Rebecca was a Finance Director with GE Capital where she held a number of senior roles covering Commercial Finance, Pricing and Mergers and Acquisition. CIMA qualified, with a degree in Maths and Management, Rebecca has extensive Finance experience working for a number of global organisations across Financial Services and Manufacturing industries.

 

SARA SMITH, Risk & Compliance Director

Sara is CRO for both Ardonagh Retail and Atlanta. She leads the Risk & Compliance function within Atlanta, having previously led the same function for Carole Nash. Over the last 30 years she’s worked at the Information Commissioner’s Office on policy, Deloitte in data protection, embedded new regulation in MBNA, and helped retailers like Homebase, Argos and Habitat comply with credit and insurance rules. She’s absolutely dedicated to clear controls, transparency, and fairness.

Tony leads our Operations at Atlanta and has been with the business since 2014, having originally started at Autonet as Operations Director. He’s got more than 30 years’ experience in the general insurance sector, and is adept at developing and delivering operational strategy, efficiency, integration, and transformation programmes. He’s held various senior leadership roles, including Ageas and Express Insurance - part of Kwik-Fit Insurance Services.

Ali is our Chief People Officer, which means it’s her job make sure all our people-centred activities are working to support both individual and commercial growth. With a genuine passion for people, Ali has extensive experience in senior HR roles with brands such as Ardonagh and Aviva. She is a strong cultural advocate and brand builder, ensuring we attract, develop, and retain the best and brightest talent for the business. She is also a fully accredited Executive Coach and qualified Psychotherapist.
