Demontrable experience of enhancing and implementing financial controls

Experienced in supporting the business through appropriate accounting and financial guidelines

Track record of operating at Financial Controller level with demonstrable experience of leading teams

Extensive experience of working in complex organisational structures

Strong and current technical accounting knowledge (UK GAAP and IFRS)

Excellent understanding of regulatory obligations

Demonstrable knowledge of financial services environment, including relevant regulation

Accredited professional (ACA, CIMA, ACCA)

Demonstrable experience in prioritising, managing multiple deliverables & stakeholders


Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.

To take a lead role in managing the relationship with the external auditors ensuring all statutory accounts are filed on time.

Responsible for recommending and establishing appropriate methodologies for key areas of judgement made within the management and statutory accounts such as provisions.

Support the enhancement of the financial control environment including maintaining appropriate and effective accounting systems, controls, records and monitoring mechanisms.

Excellent time management, communication and stakeholder engagement skills

Promote and embed a TCF culture in all respective business areas for areas of responsibility.

Ensure all financial and regulatory reporting is compliant with relevant accounting standards, regulatory guidelines, Group policies and and Group Business Standards.

Management of technical accounting teams

To effectively manage all direct reports and ensure they fully comply with Company policies, processes and performance management expectations.

To set clear goals and objectives for the team allowing you to monitor and manage the performance of team members including regular completion of prescribed evaluation processes.

Ability to analyse financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections

Proven ability to take ownership, provide solutions and execute as necessary
