Principal Pricing Analyst


Significant experience of working in the insurance industry

Organisational awareness

Continuously evaluate methodologies, understanding how they fit into the wider piece, and identify where they can be improved

Recognised pricing expert

Logistic regression, clustering, decision trees, machine learning, uplift modelling

Very strong knowledge of, understanding of and feeling for a range of statistical techniques and concepts

An MSc./PhD in a relevant subject

Analysis and statistical model building

Use of applications that will be used in the role e.g. Radar, Emblem, SAS, SQL, R, Python, machine learning

Highly proficient coder in the relevant language(s)

Provide technical leadership to drive forward effective and efficient solutions which deliver business requirements and add demonstrable value

A degree or equivalent in Mathematics, Statistics, Operational Research or a scientific discipline with strong mathematical/statistical content

Query large databases to extract and manipulate data that is fit for purpose

A track record of using market leading techniques in a creative way to solve business problems

Perform detailed and insightful analysis to solve complex business problems and / or to gain a deep understanding of various Atlanta business dynamics

Role model behaviours and contribute to wider analytic and customer community

Ensure that the abundant data sources available are fully utilised across the department and identify new opportunities


Awareness of insurance market and market best practice

To safeguard information, paying particular attention to customer and employee data and business sensitive information

Excellent coding skills

Lead the development of Atlanta's pricing capability

Oversee and assist in the development and implementation of the market leading methodologies you've identified

Follow quality assurance processes and manage risk adhering to all relevant policies

Deliver regular management information on specific KPI's relating to Atlanta's performance

The ability to communicate to senior management level

Confidence in presenting technical and marketing information in a variety of mediums to clients and colleagues. The ability to communicate to senior management level is critical

Open and honest communication

Confidence in presenting technical information in a variety of media to clients and colleagues

Research, develop and champion the use of best practice methods and standards and ensure they are embedded throughout the department


Assist Pricing Managers in making tactical and strategic decisions

Deputise for Pricing Managers, Head of Pricing

Represent the Pricing Team on cross functional projects, proactively identifying how external projects impact or interact with Pricing

Willing to challenge where appropriate
