Payroll Lead

Knowledge

Take responsibility for own actions and decisions without being prompted and know when to refer to others

Be aware of department objectives, understand how own role fits into these objectives

Knowledge and understanding of end to end payroll processing - from starters and leavers

Good working knowledge of pensions

General basic understanding of payroll

Knowledge of data protection

Knowledge of HRIS systems

Skills

Ensure end to end payroll processing is completed in line with business SLAs

Prioritising payrun activities on a monthly basis

Providing accurate calculations where required

Assuming ownership through to resolution and escalating complex situations where necessary

Providing accurate reports to the finance team, local government bodies, HMRC portals

Encouraging and coaching other team members in their own development
